Endoscopic sinus surgery is a
surgical procedure that is performed to remove sinus blockage. Obstruction
of the sinuses can lead to sinusitis, which is accompanied by inflammation of
the mucous membrane, pain, discharge and breathing problems. While
visiting the office, the otolaryngologist uses a special endoscope to see and
diagnose the sinuses as best as possible. This endoscope provides a better
visualization of the environment inside the nose and sinuses, and together with
the sinus scan, it often shows problems that cannot be recognized by
appearance.
